Boksing

Boxing is a combat sport practised between two opponents. Athletes wear boxing gloves during matches; wrestling techniques and using bones is not allowed. Good body control and skills like coordination, reaction time and balance can be strengthened through boxing training.

A boxing match takes place in a square ring. The goal is to use the gloves to hit the opponent's upper body. There are a number of different punches you can use such as the hook, cross and uppercut. Depending on your weight class, a boxing match will consist of 3-10 rounds of 2-3 minutes per round. A referee leads the match inside the ring, while ringside judges give points and decide whether a punch is a hit or miss. The best boxer after each round gets 10 points and the athlete can win a boxing match on points or by knockout. Victory by knockout means the athlete manages to box his opponent to the floor or make his opponent unfit for battle in any other way for at least ten seconds. If the boxer fails to continue fighting, his opponent wins.
