Sjakk

Chess is an ancient strategy and board game, but it is also a professional competitive game. It is estimated that over 600 million people play chess worldwide. Chess is known for its complexity, and therefore the subject of widespread studies, specialized literature and its own computer programs that can calculate millions of possible moves.

Chess is played by two people on a square board with 64 squares, where each player leads his own army consisting of 16 pieces. The objective of the game is to put the opponent's king under attack in such a way that the opponent has no legal move. The king is then "checkmate". Two opponents play a game. At the beginning of the game, the player who has white pieces starts by moving a piece, a so-called "move". Then it's the opponent with the black pieces turn. This is how the opponents take turns making moves, in accordance with special rules governing how the various pieces can move on the board. The opponent's pieces are beaten and removed from the board by one player moving his or her own pieces to the field they occupy. The rules of the game of chess are fairly simple, but tactics and strategy can be very advanced.
