Table Tennis is one the most popular global sports and is played with racquets or paddles, usually indoors, by two or four players. It’s a fast game, with the aim of hitting a small plastic ball over a net stretched across a table. The ball is only allowed to bounce once before being returned by the opposing player.

The players strike the ball with racquets, also known as paddles, to and from the opposing ends of the table until one player misses and his or her opponent gains a point. One win in an exchange earns one point, regardless of who served the ball. The usual version is played to 11 points, which is called a set. If the score is 10 – 10 in a set, play continues until one player has a two point lead. The player that wins three sets has won the game. Both local and major table tennis tournaments are arranged nationwide in Norway, and participation is year round.
