The scouting movement is one of the world’s largest children and youth movements with roughly 54 million members in many countries world-wide. Scouting is a year round open air activity, engaging its members in activities together with others. Scouting is about co-operating in carrying out and resolving tasks and about friendships and bonds that are formed underway, including across national boundaries.
As a scout you will be engaging with people you are familiar with and those you don’t know. Scouting is all about having fun, enjoying the great outdoors, being with old friends and making new. Scouting teaches you to challenge yourself and offers many new and exciting activities, you will go on trips, attend scout camp and much more. A scout learns about nature, safety and first aid. Scouting contributes to personal development, self-dependence and a well-developed sense of responsibility.
