Tennis

Tennis is an indoor or outdoor ball game played either as singles, two opponents, or doubles witha team of two on each side. Tennis is played on a 23.77 meter long tennis court and the equipment used is a stringed racquet and a white or yellow rubber ball. Tennis involves hitting the ball back and forth over a net across the court. The ball must be returned directly or after one bounce on the ground.

In tennis, you have to move fast, and speed and endurance are therefore important if you want to become a good tennis player. In addition, strength, especially in the arms, is important to hit the ball over the net to the opponent’s half of the court. A ball exchange starts by a player throwing the ball straight up into the air and serving the ball into the opponent's server window. The ball exchange continues until one of the players is unable to return the ball and thus loses the point. In a tennis match, results are calculated in games and sets. Male players play five or three sets, while female players only play three sets. The sets consist of several games and if you win four ball exchanges before the opponent has won three, you win a game. A set is won by the first player to win six games without the other player having more than four. If you win two games in a three set match or three sets in a five set match, you have won the match.
